100% Raw Foodist – Day 26

Wow! It is a chilly day in Las Vegas/Henderson today. Brrrr…!!! I don’t really like the cold at all. I’d almost always rather be hot. The weather has been crazy lately. Yesterday was pretty hot. Now it’s cold. What?!

Since my cheat day I have been feeling much better, thank goodness. I’ve been upping the amount of green smoothies and I think I’ll start drinking more green juices. I want that stuff out of my system. Fo sho.

Yesterday I stumbled onto one of the most ridiculously awesome raw food videos EVER. I had no idea who Markus Rothkranz was, but I fell in love with him yesterday. It’s the brutal, yet inspiring honesty that I really respect and love. You have to check him out:

Markus Rothkranz

Was that not the coolest video you have seen? Cheesy at some points, sure, but I think it totally adds to the awesomeness. I think Markus is one of my ultimate favorite raw foodists out there now. I love it. I hope to be like him later. First I have to completely conquer the raw diet (which I’m almost pretty much there anyways) and then conquer my physical self. P90X… I’m looking at you. First I have to prepare myself to take on such a humongous task. I can’t even do more than about 3 perfect form push ups. Pffffttt…. but I’ll get there. I’m taking these next two weeks to prepare myself. I think I’ll start with yoga sessions and maybe do a bit of Body for Life (I have the book) before I head straight into P90X. That stuff is INTENSE.

OK… food!

BREAKFAST

I was inspired by Philip McCluskey this morning and decided to do a somewhat super smoothie. I used a LOT more greens than I usually do and added some extra little things. It came out pretty awesome and to my surprise, it wasn’t green overload. I think I’ll start adding a lot more greens to my smoothies nowadays. It was delicious.  Also, I couldn’t find my camera charger, so I just took a picture with my iPhone today. :)

Green Smoothie Recipe

  • 2 bananas
  • 1 red delicious apple
  • 1 big mango
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon flax seeds
  • 2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
  • 1 whole bunch of italian parsley
  • 2-3 cups water

Put all ingredients in a high speed blender and blend until smooth. Delicious! After drinking it for a while, part of me wished I had put a bit more cacao powder in it. Maybe I’ll try it for next time. It was still delicious on it’s own. Mmmmmm!!

LUNCH

I did a 50 minute yoga routine about 1-2 hours after I drank my green smoothie this morning. About 15-30 minutes after the yoga (which was particularly easier now that I’m raw, I’ve noticed), I got a bit hungry so I ate a Raw Revolution Organic Live Food Bar – Spirulina and Cashew Flavor. What can I say? It’s my favorite. :D

It always hits the spot and gets the job done. Another flavor I’m quite fond of is the Chocolate & Cashew flavor. Mmmm…!!!

DINNER

We had 4 avocados that were perfectly ripe so we decided to make some Avocado Boats. I haven’t had some in quite a while, so I felt it was time to dish out the old recipe again.

Pico de Gallo Avocado Boats Recipe

  • Pico de Gallo
    • 2 medium tomatoes
    • 1/2 big white onion
    • 1/2 small lemon (squeezed, just the juice)
    • 1/2 red jalapeño pepper
    • 1 teaspoon salt to taste (your preference)
  • Avocados
    • however many you want!

I absolutely LOVE this recipe. I’m sure I have mentioned this before, but these Avocado Boats are my ultimate FAVORITE raw recipe of ALL TIME. It’s just so easy to make and it just tastes DELICIOUS. How could you ever go wrong with these?

Now to finish off my day with my daily minimum 2 mile walk. Ahhh, what a wonderful day.

Much love!
